Sachi the First, 5th Birthday Party

I love birthdays, especially now that I have kids. Birthdays are festive and fun! Well, at least for children. For adults, it’s more of meaningful, intimate events (at least that’s how I feel now).

The birthday girl, being in love with Sofia the first, the new princess show from Disney, has this for her birthday theme. I thought our party won’t push through because the day before her birthday, I was confined in the hospital. I pleaded to my doctor if I can be discharged the next day. I wouldn’t want to miss the craziness of a DIY yearly party I make for my daughter.

Thankfully, I was discharged. The morning of her birthday, you guess, I was a busy bee —

Yay for Sofia the First!

How can I not be strong for this little princess?

I will conquer confinement just to be with you and make you feel special, little (but-not-so-little) girl!

Silly faces with Tita Ayee

Our ever reliable mommy friends who, despite short notice are always present in our kiddo’s life.

Isabel Sachi, as you grow older and you grow wiser, I pray to God for His guidance. May you be kind-hearted and a good Christian.

You make us proud, and you fill our life with so much joy and happiness. Your sweet ways are commendable, even your discipline. At this age, you know what you want, and often times, insist on it. I see you have a strong, yet sweet personality. You enjoy being around people, yet you are shy.

This year, we are going to be a party of 4 — a family of 4 or a team of 4 as you would fondly say. But you will always be my/our first. You taught me to be selfless and loving. I thank you for that. You reciprocate very well the unconditional love we give you.

Everyday, we pray to be the best parents for you… and for your baby sister. We love you so much!

Senior Nursery – Class 2014

This SY(2013-2014), we are in Senior Nursery. Who would have thought nurseries have junior and senior levels? Then kindergarten. Then oh I hope there is no more “prep”, or we may get drained without reaching grade 1. LOLs

First day of school 2013This year, we are very lucky to have the school president to be our teacher… AGAIN! : )
Taken first day of school June 13, 2013

Last year, I have religiously blogged school activities; I am guilty of not doing the same this year. So in the hope of doing the same, I am back tracking with a summary of the first half of SY2013.

We had the Mommy and Child which miraculously I was able to blog about :p

And of course, the paternal counterpart, the Daddy and Child day. It was originally a minute to win it themed activity but because of the typhoon and its aftermath, the school decided to change the activity into a repacking activity. Now isn’t that wonderful?

There was also linggo ng wika where we used her red Filipinana dress last year

Linggo ng Wika 2013Naki red lang din ako :p

Grandparents Day

Last year, it was Papa who graced the Grandparents day event, this year we invited Mama

GrandParents Day 2013

She does this best: silly faces!

Sachi’s class danced the “Mama Mia”. I am so proud of my baby girl!

The last activity for the sem is the “ala trick or treat”. This year’s theme is Wizard of Oz. The teachers were all out in their costumes… even the parents! How cool! Biglang nawalan ng effect ang pagka “stage parent” ko. There were mommies wearing all-out costumes, walang effect ang effort ng zebra headband and scarf ko. haha!

There is still the other half of the school year, and we look forward to it!

The above post was drafted November last year. Now 4 months after, I am finally publishing and finishing the post. We already finished Senior Nursery and Sachi graduated, ready for her big school! But before that, below are the second half of school activities:

Family Day 2014
The school organized a Fun Run activity for the families, held at UP Track Oval. We joined the 400m Family Run.
With my barely there tummy but my I-don’t-know-when-my-preggy-pain-episodes-will-attack, I braved the track. Sachi ended up dragging me. Haha! 🙂

Then finally, March activity is the Moving Up and Graduation Day.

Sachi with her SN Teachers: Teacher Leah and Teacher Tin

The class sang “I am but a small voice” and Sachi was one of the students that introduced their class performance

“All throughout our Senior Year, we danced and sang a lot. But now with voices loud and clear, we’ll sing with all we’ve got!”

Look how tall she is!

So proud of her as she delivered her lines loud and clear.

“My name is Isabel Sachi P. Delos Santos. I learned how to sing my favorite songs like Take a Trip, Seed Cycle and 8 Planets in ISYC”

Senior Nursery Class 2014

We originally planned to take assessment at Poveda and Miriam, but since she passed Poveda, we didn’t take the Miriam test anymore. Unfortunately for us, the wind blew in a different direction and we had to let go of Poveda too.

Grad 3

We are one proud parents!

As we say goodbye to 2 years of preschool education, I just want to note that we are both very happy and satisfied with this first formal school. Thank you Lord for leading us here and always blessing us, so we can provide.

We love you Sachi, we are beaming with pride!

Mommy Week

It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, thus a lot of stress… But like any challenges encountered, life goes on.

The 3rd week of July was “Mommy week” in Sachi’s School. Mommies were encouraged to volunteer to give a small talk to the kids. Despite all the dramas happening that time, I just had to set it aside and squeeze, in my work schedule, this school activity.

I brought 2 girls from Posh to give quick pampering treat to the kids, and since I cannot think of anything to give that is nail care related… (I thought of giving nail clippers as a giveaway gift, but Sachi kept telling me not too, meron na daw mga classmates nya nun– I seriously believe if she was a bit older, she’d be telling me “nail clippers aren’t cool mom” lol). So I ended up making makeshift frames for the handprint artwork we’ll make, so at least they have something to bring home.

I was happy that I participated in this activity, I see my daughter’s pride the fact that I volunteered.

I was about 30-mins late for work though 😀

At the end of that week was Mommy & Child Day, this one day where the school prepares activities especially for mommy and kids.

And I say again, I appreciate ISYC for these small yet significant activities for their students. Oh, and did I say that our Teacher for this school year is the school president again? (yey!!)

Swimming Lessons

I am a scared-y cat when it comes to swimming. For the love of life, I cannot swim in any form — If you drop me in the water, I’ll drown not only because of failure to swim but because of heart attack and panic.

This is the reason why at 4-years old, I am dutifully bringing my daughter to swimming lessons. I wanted a covered pool since the weather is so hot and humid. Scorching if I may add. Luckily, my internet research prowess led me to an unbeatable price of 2,5000 for 10 sessions  … on a covered pool! I must say it is not a first class resort, it doesn’t even come close to a 3-star maybe. It looks like a simple backyard pool decent enough to teach toddlers. With the price, I came without expecting sparkling clean amenities, just plain swimming lessons.

On that note, Coach April, who is part of the Philippine rowing team dedicates an hour to teach our 4-year olds (Went there with a friend), making it somehow a one-on-one approach.

Here are photos of our first few sessions:

Day 1: The little girl was very apprehensive. She didn’t want to follow instructions just yet.

Goggles on! Ready for Day 2

Day 2: In fairness to Sachi, she knew how to dive even before the lesson started… but it was the “frog dive” because she just jumps on her feet and dive with frog feet 😀

Day 4: Ready for the big pool!

I am so proud of Sachi. Well, coming from a “dipper” (literal, I just dip my feet in the water), seeing my daughter dive is a really joy for me. We have 6 more sessions to go, can’t wait to see her progress. Stage mother much! :p

“SachiLoopsy’s” Birthday SPArty!

It is to no surprise that we are having this Lalaloopsy themed birthday this year as this is her latest toy craze. I spent a month making all these Do-it-Yourself party crafts, with special mention to yaya J who was very helpful and eager to assist. From invitation, food tag, ribbons, set-up, activities to her “costume”, it was all DIY.  Researching, designing,  photoshop-ing, printing, taping, stapling, lots and lots of cutting, sticking, shopping, name it and it has been made. All the little details made this small intimate party a one-month prep.

Pero sulit all the spare time that I spent for this “project”. I’m one proud momma, which is very well appreciated as she keeps on saying “I  love you so much mommy and thank you for preparing my party” ❤

We take you to our little celebration spent with classmates, a post yet again full of photos.

To our dear daughter,

No words can define how happy we are for having a daughter like you. You are the sweetest. At 4 years old, you know so many things that daddy and I often find ourselves just looking at each other and at a lost for words. You are very talkative and converse like an adult. You are playful and at times controlling. At this age, you exude a leader personality. You like to play pretend, play bubbles, jump from one sofa to another, skip, hop and just be the fun active little girl that you are.

I am also very proud that you are potty trained and you control your peepee very well. You sleep without nappy at 3 years and 10 months.  You like brownies, and chocolate cake. You love the new toy Lalaloopsy and watch the show over and over until you memorize their lines. You enjoy going to school and has never been absent. Teacher says you pretend to be the teacher sometimes. You work with little to no supervision. You need still need to learn how to take criticisms well, but all of your academics are excellent. You also write well, and color inside the lines. You are OC that way.

Often times, you are very makulit. You call “mommy” like there is no tomorrow. You are still shy, most especially when prodded and with new faces around you. I think you feel pressured. Also, you show a perfectionist attitude. When you do something, you’d sometimes react, “no, not perfect!” When you don’t know what to do, you observe and is shy to try unless you are sure you know already.

Did I mention you are the sweetest? You give mommy flowers when you go out for a walk. Even more, you ask permission from the garden owner “Can I get this for my mommy?”. You blurt “I love you” every other minute. You bless-hug-and-kiss all the time, in that order. You say things like “I love you super duper much mommy and daddy”, you give us long kisses. When we pretend to be sick, you take care of us and give us sweet long kisses. When in the dentist, you check up on me periodically and ask “Are you okay, mommy? I will just be here” Oh, little girl, this and so much more…

We thank the Lord for a year of health, joy and knowledge. You didn’t get sick the whole year except for the usual cough and colds that didn’t really matter, in short hindi mo ininda.

We cannot pray for anything more, just the continuous blessing that you are getting and you are giving.

You are our biggest and most important blessing. Mommg & Daddy loves you “super duper much!”

Happy happy birthday!!!

My little princess and her classmates during ToonTown sem-starter in school. It was initially planned as a sem-ender but because of bad weather, the event was moved after the sem break. They were all so cute!
