Its a blogging milestone!

I got my first ever blog winner: ALTHEA! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy that she is a new “cyberfriend”. I fear there’s no one who’d dare join my contest. Well for one, the prizes are as simple as a bare-faced gal with no make up, second, c’mon, I am ecstatic with my blog stat but that is nothing compared to the standard stats of the blog-o-sphere! I barely have readers, why the heck a giveaway? Because I am happy ๐Ÿ™‚ And all I need is one, and here you go, yay!

She said: “Seen your blog stats at midnight at 99, 999. I was hoping to catch it at exactly 100, 000 however, I was at work so I couldn’t monitor.” Would have love to see it on that stat 99,999 or 100,000… but I am no chuvaness so this is perfectly statistically fine in my “private blogging” standards.

Wee! Congrats to us!!! I’m happy, hope you are! ๐Ÿ˜‰

P.S.
To Nikole, I got your entry too… Thank you for taking time in sending! Will tweet you ๐Ÿ˜‰

Count how many lines there are and that’s how hold I am! ๐Ÿ™‚

What do I wish for on this year’s birthday? Ultimately, I wish for good health, profit and ROI on business, and bag the opportunities at work. I wish for continued happiness and love for and from my family.

I am blessed with supportive family; but this year, my goal is to be “independent”

Sept 15 was a rollercoaster of emotions. It wasn’t how I planned it to be. Yes there were flowers, ย yes there was a birthday dinner, but what’s in between is a different story. How I wish I could write on a “Great at 28, or A Date on my 28, or celebrate at 28” But there’s nothing to write about. My eyes are tired. I don’t want to elaborate.

There are 363 days (not counting today) to make my wish and goal come true… lemme just focus on that ๐Ÿ˜‰

Miss Universe 2011

Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, was crowned as Miss Universe 2011.

I am, however, proud of our pambato, Shamcey Supsup who placed third runner up. She is beautiful, I love her gown, the way she owned the stage, the way she walked, plus the ultimate admiration comes from her answer on the Q & A. As per the host “it blew her away”. I can imagine how nerve wrecking it could be. There was nervousness in her voice, but she answered perfectly.

Here is an excerpt of the Q&A of contestants from this source:

Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko:ย If you could trade lives with anyone in history, who would you choose and why? She uses a translator and says she’s “very satisfied” with her life. But if she had to choose someone she would pick Cleopatra because she’s a “powerful and strong woman who is very much worthy of respect…and I think a woman can also be a leader like Cleopatra.”

Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup:ย Would you change your religious beliefs to marry someone with an opposite view? She says no, “because the first person I love is God, who created me…if that person loves me, he should love my God.”

Miss China Luo Zilin:ย Lots of places have nude beaches. Is public nudity appropriate or inappropriate? She uses a translator and says, “Every country has its rules and regulations…We should respect them and be more understanding.” Um, huh?

Miss Brazil Priscila Machado:ย How would you avoid fighting a war you don’t agree with? She uses a translator and emphasizes the importance of respect. “No war is based on respect…It’s always based on misunderstanding, it’s always based on a lack of education.”

Miss Angola Leila Lopes:ย If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would you choose and why? She uses a translator and says, “I wouldn’t change a thing.” She says she was “endowed with inner beauty.” She adds, “I have my principles. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family.” Then, she wants to offer a piece of advice: “Respect one another.” Unfortunately, she runs out of time.

Fourth runner up is Miss China, Third runner up is our very own Miss Philippines, Second runner up is Miss Brazil, First-runner up is Miss Ukraine and Miss Universe 2011 is Miss Angola! ๐Ÿ™‚

Back to Back Kiddie Parties

It was one Sunday packed with parties

Zac Connor’s 1st Birthday Party at Seafood Century Restaurant

Theme: The movie, Up!

Balloons and backdrop

Kiddie Salon. I love it and the little girl is loving it more!

She is so serious ๐Ÿ™‚

Hair Spray (mental note: get a kiddie salon on the next party)

Kids enjoying the party. My little girl looks so adorable (smitten much), she’s actually smiling.
Who would have thought she is only 2 and a half years old?

The Golden Show

Body painting for kids just went up a notch higher… airbrush!

There was magic show, photo booth, a balloon show care of the balloon lady (For a balloon lady, I wish she was as friendly as her nice hat), food carts, games and prizes.

First birthdays are fun to attend, there’s just too much activity that both kids and kids-at-heart enjoy.

My niece, Iya’s 5th Birthday Party

Theme: The Smurfs

Smurf cake and cupcakes

Make A Wish!

Little girl enjoying her cupcakes

Getting crazy in front of the Photo booth with
Villa cousins (I am not a Villa, but they too are my cousins hehe ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Our photobooth shots:

Happy happy 5th birthday, Iya!! You’re going to be an ate soon! Yay! ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S.
The beautiful pictures are from my cousin, some grabbed from Facebook. The rest from my lousy but dependable camera

I started a blog to document my life. Eerie as it may sound, posting pictures when absolutely everyone with internet access can see it, and reading your thoughts — there really is something about it, and I enjoy it. Sending your thoughts “out there” is like a venue to relieve stress.

The ultimate purpose, of blogging, for me is for documentation. For the forgetful person that I am, this is veryย helpful. Wouldn’t it be nice when I grow old, I can look back and re-live my younger days… and if this host will last a lifetime, even generations after me would get to know me.

So for this supposedly secret blog, I am surprised to see that I am nearing 100,000 visits! That’s a big number for me. Although I want this blog to be as private as possible, I admit I enjoy “meeting” others. Strangers randomly commenting on my post doesn’t scare me off, rather, I feel like I gain friends. Its because they are commenting on something that I shared, which is always personal.

With all that said, the reason for this post is to give my 100,000 reader a little something to remember me by, or at least this little web home I call my blog ๐Ÿ™‚ A little celebration for me! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll be giving away some of my favorite treats, including themed pedicure, and red velvet cupcakes! I wish I can giveaway gadgets… that would be awesome. But this will do for now. Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

1. A GC from Posh Nails: Strawberry and/or Lemon Twist Themed Pedicure for 2

2. Strip It 200g Wax Kit

3. Hello Kitty Slippers from Banana Peel

4. A 4-pc box of red velvet cupcake

How to WIN:

1. Send me a screenshot of BLOG STATS (found on the upper right pane of my blog) at arleneplacido@yahoo.com

  • It should show 100,000 or the closest to 100,000 (up)
  • It should show date and time on your computer
  • Please include name, contact # and address

2. Comment on this post when you have submitted an entry ๐Ÿ™‚
3. Giveaways areย transferable to any of your loved ones
4. Treats are to be picked up at SM City Marikina
