PasalubongsConcie is back, she bought lots of clothes for Sachi when she was still in my tummy, now she brought home several Avent sippy cups, frames to boast Sachi pics and a cute inflatable kiddie thingie with canopy! Can’t wait to use it. It’s just a matter of time before we bring her to the beach, or to a pool. Hmmm, when and where kaya?

Thanks , Concie!

Only in the PHiL
Imagine how funny (and amazing) they look — eight adults clinging at back of the jeepney! Only in the Philippines.

The closest I can feel Japan (for now) is by eating at Japanese restarurants, or at least those that are inspired by it.

Teriyaki Boy

The food we ordered at Teriyaki Boy. The restaurant changed their menu selection. And they taste great!

Steak Combo Sumosam
Above is a combo steak from Sumo Sam. Not in picture is the soup, the salad, and the sushi rolls that came with it. The steak is amazingly well-cooked. No icky blood, but still taste good, juicy, and tender. I’m not a fan of steak only because cooks normally don’t get the way i want it cooked — the well done normally still has blood, or if no blood, it becomes so dry. This one is just perfect!

sachi_rockwellI’ve made a rule that Sunday is family day. As much as possible, we are going to try and spend the whole day with Sachi.

Fashion Week ’09

Wednesday, May 2009, with a drowsy eye, a ticket on hand, shoe-hunting as part of my agenda, and 2 companions (1 for financial aka taga-bayad, 1 for physical aka taga-buhat), I headed to the SMX Convention at Mall of Asia Grounds. The thing is huge. High ceiling. Big big escalator.

Since I only have a ticket with me, I wanted to make sure my mom and sister can get in so at 7:00pm, I made arrangements for 5 seats under my name for the 9:30pm show (Us 3 plus tita and Paula who has a ticket).

Since shoe hunting is really part of our agenda, we went straight to MOA after securing my mom and sister’s entrance to the show. The section where we entered was — tantararan! — the baby section! We were oggling the cute baby clothes so we ended up buying Sachi a handful of clothes, a terno dress (so cute I swear!), a gold rubber shoes, and a christening gown. O diba, talk about unplanned purchases. Di pa nga sure our plans for christening, we bought one na. Ang cute kc!

After spending at least 40 minutes in the baby section, we hurried toward the specialty stores to look for ma’s shoes, and hopefully for mine. We entered at at least 5 stores, several caught my attention but they’re not really fit for me and mama’s gowns. We ended uo with a slip-on that ma bought just because it was on Sale. Mama talaga, basta may nakasualt na SALE in red, gusto ng bilhin kahit walang paggagamitan. She bought an oddly blue colored-slip on with gems that turned out expensive pa rin even if it’s on sale. Oh well.

At a little past 9pm, we hurried back at SMX Convention to meet up with the Moya couple and Villa family. We were waiting at the first floor, only to find out that they were all inside already. So when we entered the hall, this is what greeted us:

loads of people at SMX
Lotsa people. Lotsa Heels. Lotsa Boots. Lotsa Fashionista. Lotsa Cameras.

Wanted to wear heels to feel like all glamed up, but since I know we’re in for long and hurried walk for our shoe-hunt agenda, I grabbed these slip-ons that my brother call gladiators (long before the gladiator shoes that’s uso now)

Not the PRE-NUP I wanted…

Last week, Friday May 22, we had our much awaited pre-nuptial session. I wanted the Trash the dress concept of SmartShot, but since I wasn’t able to find a gown, we didn’t push through with it.

Our PhotographerWe initially wanted to do the shoot at Fuego, but since our schedule is packed, we opted to shoot somewhere near. We had our minds fixed at Intramurous because I wanted an old, vintage feel. Unexpectedly, they are already requiring a shooting permit with a corresponding Php2,000 fee I think. Since we didn’t have time to go at the location just to get a permit, and we were too siguristas, we settled at Eco Park.

The park in itself is nice. There are different locations and sceneries where you can shoot. The only downfall is the people and the heat. We started shooting around 3pm, and with the pag-iinarte of the groom, we were on our way out at 4pm.

Sit here, look there, hold your hand, tilt to the right, stand up, smile…

Our 3 hour session was cut to an hour. The groom couldn’t smile anymore. The photographer noticed. I am nothing but frustrated. And disappointed.

This is a once in alifetime event. Just like getting married, when will you get another chance for a pre-nup shoot when you’re supposed to get married only once? Hindi ba pwedeng tiisin nlng the curious stare of people and the damn heat? After all, we are sharing the pain. We’re all feeling it.

One week passed, I am still mad. I told the groom I will forever be mad looking back. I already let it go, but if someone asks, how can I forget? I would have loved to write a wonderful experience, something significant or meaningful, or fun, but it’s just not. It was memorable indeed. But not the memory I wanted it to be.

Mood: Ranting still

Grabe naman
